Mark Schlereth draws the ire of Phil Mushnick

ESPN NFL analyst Mark Schlereth on Thursday appeared on SportsCenter’s "Coors Hard, Cold Facts" segment, and in so doing, drew the ire of Phil Mushnick. When Schlereth addressed what the Colts must do to beat the Saints, Mushnick said Schlereth "was firm and clear. The Colts defense ‘must stop the run on first down. They have got to tackle well and they have got to create second-down-and-long and third-down-and-long situations.’ In other words, and presumably after hours to prepare his answer, Schlereth said the Colts have to make the Saints punt. . . . What Schlereth said the Colts defense must do is no different from what the Saints defense must do. And that’s no different for any team’s defense since Knute Rockne was kicking slats out of his cradle!"
