"Time Warner Cable and Walt Disney Co. have 'come to terms' on a carriage agreement, 10 days before the opening of the NFL regular season and on the verge of the fall TV season, according to a person close to the talks,"
Claire Atkinson writes, adding, "The person confirmed the companies agreed in principle to terms that would avoid a threatened blackout of Disney's ABC and ESPN shows on the cable system. The current Disney/Time Warner Cable contract expires Thursday, a week before the NFL season opens in New Orleans between the Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. The ESPN opener Monday, Sept. 13 features the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens."
