Sean McManus of CBS: Impact of Tiger Woods’ absence depends on definition of ‘indefinite’

As Sean McManus sees it, golf obviously will exist without Tiger Woods, but it just as obviously won’t be the same. McManus, the president of CBS Sports and News, said while golf is a strong sport, an extended absence by Woods — who announced Friday he will take an indefinite break from professional golf — will be far from a positive. “We’ve obviously done golf tournaments without Tiger before,” McManus tells Larry Dorman and Richard Sandomir, “but we all know how much better they do when Tiger is playing well on the weekend. We’ll adjust, but I guess a lot of it depends on what the definition of the word ‘indefinite’ is."
