Rome departs ESPN, reportedly to join CBS Sports Network

Pete Dougherty reports, “Talk show host Jim Rome confirmed on his Twitter account that he will be leaving ESPN, which has aired “Jim Rome Is Burning” the past eight years.

Multiple sources have reported that Rome is close to signing a contract with the CBS Sports Network, a deal that would include appearances on Showtime.

Rome’s radio show, which airs locally on WOFX (980 AM), would not be affected.

His last “JRIB,” according to reports, will be Friday, Jan. 27.”
