Fox Sports’ Joe Buck to make first return to IU to speak at School of Journalism’s fall Speaker Series November 10

The Bloomington Press Club will host a fundraiser featuring the sportscaster at 5 p.m. at Nick’s English Hut, 423 E. Kirkwood Ave. Tickets to the fundraiser are $50, $40 of which is tax-deductible, and help fund the club’s scholarships for journalism students who serve as interns for area organizations.
Attendees will gather in the upstairs bar to hear from Buck as well as enjoy some of Nick’s famous pub food. Soft drinks are included but the bar will be open.

At 7 p.m. that evening, Buck will talk at Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave., as the School of Journalism’s fall Speaker Series lecturer. That event is free and open to the public.
Buck is a six-time Emmy Award-winner who handles lead play-by-play duties for Fox Sports’ Emmy Award-winning coverage of Major League Baseball and the National Football League. Buck, a National Sports Journalism Center board member, attended IU in the telecommunications program.
This will be his first trip to IU since he was a student there.
