Terry Hutchens has worked as a sportswriter for the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News since 1991. He started as the Indianapolis Colts beat writer for the News and is beginning his 13th season covering Indiana University football and basketball.

Hutchens has been honored as Indiana's Sportswriter of the Year three times in the last four years by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. A 1989 graduate of IUPUI, Hutchens has taught a sportswriting course at his alma mater intermittently for the last 20 years.

Terry and his wife, Susan, have been married 24 years and have two sons: Bryan, a sophomore at Wabash College, and Kevin, a junior at Lawrence North High School.
